Ecuador’s famed archipelago was known to early explorers as Las Islas Encantadas (The Enchanted Isles). Although the name has changed, the Galápagos have lost none of their power to captivate. This remote, seemingly barren chain of volcanic islands is home to an astounding variety of wildlife – including many species found nowhere else on earth. It remains one of the world’s best places for interacting with animals in the wild at such close range, both above and below the sea.
