Is Vatican hiding the end of World?

Followers of conspiracy theories are convinced that the Roman Catholic Church is in possession of the information which means the end of humanity. They think one of these is the message of the Fatima’s secrets which means the coming end of the world in their opinion.

The Secrets of Fatima

In 1917, near the town of Fatima in Portugal the Blessed Mother (Our Lady) appeared for three children. This vision sounds unbelievable but declarated as an accepted fact by the Roman Catholic Church. They keep it among the greatest significant vision. Three sheperd children watched over the flock near Fatima, in Cova da Iria and meanwhile they built a small recess from stones. Suddenly they saw light,  first they thought this is a lightning, but a little farther they saw it again. There was a brilliant lady in the light who held a rosary in her hand. They children told that the lady asked to go to this place on every 13rd of the next months at same hour. According to their telling the lady appeared in five times in the next month and she told them a story in these occassions. These are called secrets of Fatima. The last vision was on 13 October in 1917. It had 30 to 70 thousand witnessed by different datas. The Blessed Mother asked to built a chapel for her honor. The building and the cathedral next to it is attracted a lots of believers still to there.

The first three secrets

The first vision told about the hell, the fear and the dread. The Blessed Mother showed a fire-sea where were human forms terrifying demons. The second vision refered back to the hell and told about signs from God, which meant the end of a terrible war. In 1941 Lucia de Jesus dos Santos (one of sheperd children) shared the first two secrets with the public but the third vision only in 2000 came to light. According to this, an angel attacked the Blessed Mother with a flaming sword,  but the flames went out as soon as they were near the Blessed Mother. The angel repeated repentance then pointed to a mountain where was a big wooden cross and people dead in front of it. There were two angels under the cross who collected blood of the dead people. Despite the verification of the Church there are lots people who doubt that these visions happened.

However according to followers of conspiracy theories not only happened, but they have important messages also which connected with terrible calamities for the humanity and show  end of the World. They say – and this is the point of view of the Catholich Church too – the first two visions mean the end of World War I and the beginning of the World War II. But while the Vatican says the third vision means the struggle against atheistic, others argue that it means destruction of the humanity and the Vatican know this date and they know also exactly what will be happen.

The Fourth Secret of Fatima

In 2006 Antonio Socci published his famous book: The Fourth Secret of Fatima. In this book – after much investigation comes to the conclusion that the Vatican hasn’t released the entire Third Secret, there are two text. As well known on May 13 in 2000 Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Vatican Secretary of State announced that the Third Secret would revealed. He told that the Secret speaks of  “a bishop clothed in white who, while making his way amid the corpses of martyrs, falls to the ground, apparently dead, under a burst of gunfire.” Cardinal Sodano went on to indicate that this was a prediction of the 1981 assassination attempt against Blessed Pope John Paul II . Though most of the crowd accepted this explain, some were immediately skeptical. Many Catholics said: ” I think there is more.”  They mentioned an interview with  Cardinal Ratzinger ( Pope Benedict XVI) in 1984 when he said the third secret concerns the dangers threatening the faith and life of the Christian, and therefore the world. Also mentioned Luigi Cardinal Ciappi‘s quote:  “In the Third Secret it is foretold, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church begins at the top.” He was personal theologian to four Popes up to and including Blessed Pope John Paul II. Father Joaquin Alonso, who for sixteen years was the official archivist at Fatima said: “Completely probable that the text makes concrete references to the crisis of faith within the Church and to the negligence of the pastors themselves and the internal struggles in the very bosom of the Church and of grave pastoral negligence of the upper hierarchy …”

Does the unpublished text speak of concrete circumstances?

Experts say that this is very possible that it speaks not only of a real crisis of the faith in the Church during this in-between period and more than internal struggles of Catholics or to the fall of priests and religious. According to Bishop Amaral, the third Bishop of Fatima :  “Its content concerns only our faith. To identify the Third Secret with catastrophic announcements or with a nuclear holocaust is to deform the meaning of the message. The loss of faith of a continent is worse than the annihilation of a nation; and it is true that faith is continually diminishing in Europe.”

Will come to light the real truth one day? In my opinion that this question will be open and maybe better if we don’t foresee our fates…
