Looking out to the World – May

“People really need help but may attack if you help them. Help people anyway. Give the world the best you have and you might get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.” – Mother Teresa of Calcutta

In May the Humanity and the Voluntaryism are in the focus of the attention

Help of the volunteers provide an invaluable service to countless communities around the world. Unfortunately we live in a world which increasingly confronted by challenges linked to such adversities as natural disasters, war, poverty, disease,  armed violence, hunger and climate change. These people are one of the greatest assets communities have when a crisis occurs. However often their sacrifice and dedication are underappreciated and go unrecognized. Each year May 8 is the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. This day is a honour for them when celebrating the birthday of the founder of the Red Cross. On this day was born Jean Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross in 1828.  The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movements is an international humanitarian movement with approximately 97 million volunteers, members and staff worldwide.
