More a human eats, the more he grows … and he eats more. This is essentially the conclusion of a recently published study by British researchers. Their result: if every person on the planet ate like an average American, global demand for food would experience an increase equivalent to the consumption of a billion people. An energetic curse against which the European governments are mobilizing. The strategy: to tax “junk food”. Sodas, frozen pizzas, industrial burgers, cakes and biscuits loaded with saturated fats … By increasing the prices of foods considered to be responsible for obesity and the disruption of food production, nations hope to stop a phenomenon seen as a major threat for the planet.
