Verge of the imagination and the reality – Darkness Left Undone

“Darkness Left Undone explores the fine line of how a normal everyday life can be seamlessly transformed into an extraordinary fast paced edge of your seat sequence of events. This novel is about how bar owner Michael Andrews quest to find his friend who is traveling abroad turns into a momentum driven search that bleeds into dark world wide repercussions. The characters were developed in my debut novel Yesterday’s Darkness.
Although Darkness Left Undone is technically a sequel, it stands alone and was inspired by the Harriet Beecher Stowe quote “The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone” As with most thriller authors I like to look at life through the eyes of my antagonist. With that in mind I did a play on the words written by the 19th century author to portray the words through the eyes of my protagonist’s adversary. Malevolence, for lack of a better word, tends to create unrest for dark deeds that the… dissolute are not yet able to accomplish. As an avid reader myself, I am intrigued by the way the impious interprets the world around them.
I have discovered that my primary readers are intrigued by international conspiracies. Fans of writers like Daniel Silva, Dan Brown, Alan Folsom, or Ken Follett tend to gravitate to my novels. As with all of my novels as well as the authors that inspire me, a lot of research is required to complete it.
While researching my novel I learned a lot about the Vatican and religious power. I also discovered that what I assumed existed in the dark corners of devout power was far darker then I anticipated. I think that my fans will be left with a lot of food for thought.
If I had to say something to my readers I would say this. My novels will make you turn the pages while respecting your intelligence. I never shove my personal opinions down my reader’s throat but create situations that provoke thought. In fact, when I am in the writing process I only have the opinions of the characters. I love to walk the line of fact and fiction to the point that you will question if what is insinuated as fiction is actually fact. It is rare that two readers get the same interpretation from my novels and I truly love that about my writing. ” – Carl Henegan is one of the few authors who can give such a true to life experience with his brilliant descriptions in his novels that the readers feel they see and live through every moments like in the real life…
His new novel – Darkness Left Undone – is the highly anticipated sequel to Yesterday’s Darkness
